South Dakota is well known throughout the world as a 'Tourism' state.

Leading the way, of course, are those four fella's out there on the big rock near the western border of the Sunshine State (Ok, ok, the Rushmore State). Lots of folks also have their 'must-stops' like the Crazy Horse Memorial, Wall Drug, the World's Only Corn Palace and others. And they're all worthy of visiting! (Hey, don't miss Falls Park either!)

But maybe, perhaps, a bit of a 'hidden gem' is the Casey Tibbs Rodeo Center in Ft. Pierre.

Many of us know Casey Tibbs as the greatest Rodeo Cowboy in history. I would add that, in my opinion, Casey Tibbs is the greatest athlete in South Dakota history.

The nine time World Champ is, of course, honored at the center and well worth the visit by itself...

But there's so much more.

The Center honors all facets of rodeo, from rodeo clowns to announcers, queens to entertainment acts, cowboys to stock contractors. And for goodness sakes, bring your children and grand children! And don't forget the camera (or phone) 'cause the young'un's have tons of interactive things to do, all while wearing western clothes!

So if you love rodeo, you'll love the Casey Tibbs Rodeo center. But the really cool thing is, if you don't know 8 seconds from 8 ball, you'll love it, too! Take a 30 second or so tour in the video below.
