Pot has put a 54-year old rural Platte, South Dakota man behind bars.

Jeffrey Riggins was arrested on Monday, May 16, 2016, when the local sheriff's office and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation obtained a search warrant and found 55 marijuana plants in his possession. The plants were in different stages of their growth process.

Along with the plants, authorities also confiscated marijuana by-products, including; dried marijuana, marijuana butter and marijuana cookies. (Hey, you gotta have something for the munchies, right?)

According to the Charles Mix County Sheriff's Office, Riggins is being held on a number of different charges including; unauthorized manufacture with intent to distribute marijuana, keeping a place for use or sale of controlled substance, distribution and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, commission of a felony while armed with a firearm, unauthorized possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
