The Brennan Rock & Roll Academy is just over a year old and has gotten off to a great start with free music lessons for Sioux Falls kids conducted by local musicians. But now it's time to ramp things up and the Academy is looking for more outgoing, musically-inclined people that want to pass along their knowledge to kids who want to learn.

The Brennan Rock & Roll Academy is hosting an Open House/Volunteer Drive on Sunday August 17th at 7pm. Bands that have formed featuring some of the Academy instructors will perform that night including Fortunate Sun, Granola, The A-Team and the nameless.

They want you to come and experience a little bit of what they provide their volunteers, students and the community! They need YOU to help make a difference to the kids in the program and they'd love for you to be able to experience it all in the state-of-the-art facility located at 900 W 11th St in Sioux Falls.

I know a number of the instructors and they all talk about how much they look forward to going in on their one night a week to give lessons. How proud they are of their students when they learn something new and form bands to perform not only at the Academy, but at functions around the city including this summer's huge RibFest.

If you're a musician, or can at least read music, have patience and a desire to pass along your knowledge, plan to attend the Volunteer Drive at the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy on August 17th!

Who knows who might come to jam with your students?!?
