This is not Country Music. But I will try to tie the two together.

There is a misunderstanding that if you work in Country Music, all you appreciate is Country Music. That's not always true.

I was obsessing the other day. I was obsessing about was the music, on the Bose Commercial that plays on TV so often during football games. It's the commercial where the two teenagers are just about to kiss, and the dad of the daughter ruins the mood with the music that he changes from the other room.  The clip is so short!

Thanks to Google, I found out who it was.  In my mind, it kind of reminded me of music you might hear if you were staying in an all inclusive resort on the Riviera Maya. It's a cool Corona Beer sitting on the beach music buzz song. I love the chordal structure and the way it meanders and wanders around and then finishes. It's a crazy good song. It's called Wait, by M83.

Ok, let's tie country music into this story. In this case I can, because one of my favorite artists, and I mean artists, country music wise is Dierks Bentley. This guy actually weaves together some of the same chordal structures and ideas as M83 in his song (my favorite he's ever done) Say You Do.  Listen and see if you can hear what I mean.  It's kind of a work of art, much like Wait by M83.

Just listen and follow the mandolin in your ears throughout the song and how it talks to and adds layers of coolness.

What do you think? Do you hear what I'm talking about? If you do, I'd love to hear from you and what you think of M83 and Dierks Bentley.
