Blake Shelton has been teasing fans on Twitter all weekend about a big announcement. While fans joked with the country singer, asking if the news was that he and Adam Levine were getting married, he was pregnant or new music was on the way, Shelton played coy. He was adamant that there was no way anyone would guess because the news was "way too insane."

And he was right. Monday morning (Nov. 9) on the Today Show with Kathy and Hoda the big news was revealed: Shelton will host Nickelodeon's 2016 Kids' Choice Awards!

"My agent called and was like, 'Is there anything you can think of that you want to do?'" he tells Kathy and Hoda. "And I was thinking, 'I want to host those Kids' Choice Awards. I want to do this thing with kids, it's fun. I want to get slimed.'"

Today then showed a promo of the awards with Shelton getting slimed while sitting in his chair on The Voice. "Feels good! I love it!" he screams while green rains down on him.

"I’ve been on countless stages throughout my life, but none have promised the madness, excitement and endless slime as Nick’s Kids’ Choice Awards, which is undoubtedly the ultimate party for kids," the country star says in a press release. "There is only one team here, and it’s Team Kids’ Choice so bring it on Nickelodeon!"

The Kids' Choice Awards air on March 12 on Nickelodeon.
