This weekend something is happening in Sioux Falls, that many people won't even think about.  We have two shows, at two different venues and that's not uncommon. But this weekend we have a band trying to break through and an artist who currently has a song in the top ten.

Maiden Dixie is set to play Wylie's Tavern in Sioux Falls (6th and Main).  They would be the band trying to break through. Maiden Dixie is headquartered out of Minneapolis and are touring regionally.

David Nail is set to play The District on Saturday night. (less than 100 tickets remain)  Nail's new song, 'Whatever She's Got' is currently gobbling up airtime on country stations all around the nation.

I was sort of surprised when I head The District was bringing in Nail. Nail is kind a stoic, introspective type writer and performer. Case and point, 'Red Light.'  Even though his most recent song breaks away from that mold, I was happy as hell to see that Sioux Falls Country Fans love and embrace our music so much, that they want to see a full range of performers and writing styles.  I'm expecting a great show!

Neat thing about it, it's Friday and Saturday. Country music fans get a chance to jump out, get together with friends and check out some great music.

Sioux Falls has really jumped forward as far as the 'music scene is concerned. It used to be we would get a national act through town 2 to 4 times a year. Now we seem to be getting those opportunities monthly.

Add to all that, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett will be at The Swiftel Center in Brookings in March (pre-sale Thursday, on sale to public Friday 10:00 a.m.) And the Band Perry and Easton Corbin are coming in February (tickets on sale now).  Oh, and some guy named Jason Aldean is coming this fall.

So, how long will it last? Will fans keep buying tickets and buying drinks? We'll have to wait to see. In the meantime, Sioux Falls has some 'Country Music' going on this weekend.  Let's get out and check it out!

Boom, this just in...David Nail SOLD OUT The District!  Enjoy the show!
