KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the first time in program history during the regular season, Augustana University men's basketball is ranked No. 1 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

Augustana was ranked No. 1 in the NABC Preseason Poll on Oct. 27 before stops at No. 6 and No. 3 before being ranked second for six straight weeks from Dec. 8 to Jan. 19.

The Vikings have won 17 straight games and are currently 17-1 on the season, including 14-0 in NSIC play. Augustana is two wins shy of matching the longest winning streak in program history of 19 games which was set last season.

Augustana is one of two teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference ranked in this week's NABC poll. MSU Moorhead moved up from No. 7 to No. 3 in this week's poll.

Augustana received 15 first-place votes and 399 points in the poll. Fairmont State earned the other first-place vote and 373 points to earn the No. 2 spot and was followed by MSU Moorhead in third, Western Oregon in fourth and Wheeling Jesuit in fifth.

The Vikings have now spent 19 straight weeks in the top 10 of the NABC poll dating back to Jan. 13 of last season. Augustana has been ranked inside the top 10 of the NABC poll 26 times in program history. This marks the 25th consecutive week in the rankings for Augustana dating back to Nov. 25, 2015.

Augustana returns home for a pair of games against NSIC North Division opponents this weekend. The Vikings will host the University of Mary at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 before welcoming Minot State at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
