Whether you think he's a hero that started the Livestrong Foundation to help fight cancer or someone that cheated the system to win it all, the Lance Armstrong movie is going to happen.

Filming started last week on the untitled film that has actor Ben Foster playing Lance Armstrong.  The film will follow the rise of Armstrong, then his cancer battle, his retirement and finally the exposure of Armstrong using performance enhancement drugs by journalist David Walsh.

Armstrong admitted that he used testosterone, a human growth hormone and a hormone naturally produced by the human kidneys that stimulates red blood cell production.  This hormone (EPO) increases the amount of oxygen that is delivered to muscles, which then improves recovery and endurance.

Director Stephen Frears is pleased with the casting of Ben Foster as the disgraced Armstrong and the cyclists in the movie are accepting him in the role.  Irish actor Chris O'Dowd will play journalist David Walsh.
