A late night fire at an apartment complex at 6 street and Summit Avenue on Friday October 16  resulted in one resident seeking medical attention for minor burns.

The fire, which appears to have started on the second level, reached the third floor as well.  One resident was rescued from their patio and all residents were evacuated from the building, including a cat.

Sioux Area Metro provided a warm bus parked nearby for residents to have a place outside of the brisk fall air.

Authorities continue to investigate the fire.  At least two of the apartment units sustained heavy damage.
