There comes a time after Christmas that a person just wants their home back to normal.  You might have all of the gifts put away, but now what do you do with all the wrapping paper?  And what about the tree that once brought great pride after being perfectly decorated?  It has now dropped enough needles to carpet a forest floor, but where should you dispose of it?

Starting Friday, December 26th, 2014, the city of Sioux Falls will have two different Christmas tree drop-off sites open to the public.  The sites will be open from 9AM until 5PM through January 18th.

One drop-off site is located on East Chamber Street, west of Cliff Avenue by the Household Hazardous Waste Facility.  A second drop-off site is on Lyon Boulevard, just west of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.  Remember to remove all ornaments from the tree before disposing it.  There is no charge for dropping off a tree.

What about the piles of wrapping paper?  Most gift wrap can also be recycled, but not the paper made of foil, covered with glitter or full of tape.  Bubble wrap and plastic bags can also be recycled, but remember to remove any sticky labels before placing it in your recycle bin.
