Many times during transit, it’s hard to see what is actually happening with construction projects. During your leisure time you can get a better view of 22nd and Minnesota.

Leading up to the project on both the north and south you have about two blocks to buffer the crews and direct the traffic. The southbound lanes are getting removed and replaced first along with the adjacent areas of 22nd Street on the west side of the intersection.

Of course with about a half block of pavement removed, 22nd Street is closed with the detour in place. At present, Dakota Avenue is being used as the compensation route on the east side.

All the pavement is still in place on the east side of the intersection. As the project progresses, you are encouraged to be ready for similar treatment in that segment.

Indications are that the early July completion is still on schedule. During peak traffic times, that can’t come soon enough for Sioux Falls drivers.
