Peterson Possibly Traded?
He’s probably the best running back in the NFL, so why would the Minnesota Vikings trade him?
Adrian Peterson, who was selected by the Vikings with the seventh overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, is confident about a couple of things: Vikings fans LOVE him in purple! He’s also pretty sure that he would love to finish his career with the Minnesota Vikings. However, he does understand the business side of the game, and understands that he could be traded for draft picks in hopes of rebuilding the team.
Peterson did sign a $100 million contract extension in 2011, but with his team struggling this season, he adds:
I know this is a business and things like that happen. So if it happens, it happens. There’s not much I can’t handle. I’m sure someone will welcome me with open arms if they do decide to trade me. … But it’s a business, so if they trade me, then, hey.
Peterson has scored 10 touchdowns this season and is averaging 4.5 yards per carry. But if this “Adrian Peterson Trade” talk does become more than just a rumor, it’s safe to say there are probably plenty of teams in the NFL that would be willing to “take Peterson off of the Vikings hands”! Until then however, Vikings fans…..continue to love your number 28!
