A Very Special Homecoming King at Roosevelt High School [VIDEO]
I was very happy to hear that the son of our friend Julie Briggs, Scotty Briggs, was crowned Homecoming King. It was on Scotty’s, Sept. 16th birthday, that the kids at Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School voted him royalty.
You will hear in this video that Scotty’s life motto is: “Be so happy that when others look at you, they become happy too”.
That makes such good sense, since I have never seen Scotty in a room where he was not making others smile. Whether he was showing up to support a Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon, visiting at the studio with his family, or attending a friends wedding, he always has a way of making others happy.
To quote Scotty’s sister Jessica Kerher:
“Scotty is absolutely thrilled that the RHS student body has elected him as King! He is grateful that his peers see him for who he really is, a fun loving, kind, energetic kid. As a family we are proud to say we are related to Scotty. He teaches us daily to slow down and enjoy the small things in life. Being King means the students at RHS value Scotty and feel he is the most positive representative for their senior class. Scotty feels honored and humbled to be King! He is a pretty big deal to those who know him!”
Don’t you think Scotty and Anna make a delightful Roosevelt High School Homecoming King and Queen? We sure do and apparently a lot of other folks do too.
