When it's not a wedding hall or banquet room, it's a jungle.  Three years ago, the Delbridge Museum Great Room at the Great Plains Zoo was transformed into a jungle featuring lifelike dinosaurs that roar and swish their tails.  The public loved the Dino-Roars! exhibit so much that the Zoo brought it back again.

The exhibit features 19 animatronic dinosaurs in various sizes.  Not only does the exhibit educate guests about dinosaurs, but it helps them make connections to other animals they would see at the zoo.

You'll learn about the predator-prey relationship between the Deinonychus and the Tenontosaurus, and how it is similar to that of the Red-Tailed Hawk and the Cottontail Rabbit.

Like the Pachycephalosaurus (below), black rhinos use their heads to spar with each other and defend themselves and their calves against predators.

The Apatosurus surveyed the land with its long neck and weighed 40,000 pounds.

There are plenty of hands-on opportunities including comparing the skin pattern and texture of different dinosaurs with modern day alligators and snakes, plus two giant dig boxes that allow kids to use brushes to uncover fossils.

There are also a couple photo opportunities.  Get your picture taken next to the razor sharp teeth of a T-Rex (you can put your head in its mouth!) or just pet a cute little dino like I did.

Non-Zoo members can purchase the pass for $54 and receive free admission to the exhibit AND the Zoo through May 3.
