It's the Mother Church of Country Music. If country music has hallowed ground, it would be this place.

It's history is the history of country music itself.

From Uncle Dave Macon to Roy Acuff, Minnie Pearl to Dolly Parton to Randy Travis to whoever the current hottest country artist is, they've all played (or want to) the Grand Ole Opry.

And now it's coming to a theater near you.

(AP) - A film about the Grand Ole Opry will hit theaters this winter.

The Nashville Tennessean reports "American Saturday Night: Live From The Grand Ole Opry" will feature Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, The Band Perry and Brett Eldredge. In spite of the title, it was filmed on a Monday in August.

Eldredge says taking the Opry to the movies will allow people to feel like they're sitting at the Opry, what he calls "the most magical place on earth."

The film will be in limited release in December and open in more theaters in January.
