The other day I was prepping for a phone interview with Tyler Farr. I wanted to come up with some questions, so I started doing some research and soon I had 6 questions to ask Farr. When I got Tyler on the phone I told him I have 6 questions. Pick a number and we'll start. He chose number 3.

The third question I had lined up to ask was, who are Grayson and Kate?

They're a couple of child actors who we wanted to do a video with, in order to kind of introduce me to the world, and kind of show them a little more about me and my sense of humor.

Question number 1 was, tell me about a very special engagement?

With all the time and travel that we have in order to do what we do, I had to make time. I was going to propose in South Carolina, but things changed and I had to make a call to a guy at The Grand Ole Opry. I told her I was going to drop off some things, and just stop by there. I had plans though to ask her. Not in front of people, nobody recognized me or her, we just stopped up by a stained glass window and I asked her right there!

Any advice to proposers?

Yeah, don't hang with mega rich country stars when purchasing a ring for your fiance. Jason Aldean kind of influenced me to buy a bigger ring than I might have. I think I'll have to take a 30 year mortgage on the ring to pay for it.

Tell me about the photo for your new album Suffer in Peace.

That's right on my farm in South Carolina man, it was raining and it was cold! I was standing up there on the four wheeler and was waiting and waiting for them to take the picture. But seriously, that picture is taken right there on my farm on some of the land that I love the most of anywhere in the world!

Tell me about the song on your album That's Why We Live here.

I'm a huge fan of military men and women. I come from a military family, so it's always had a close place in my heart. I had the pleasure of performing overseas and it really changed my life. The song is a tribute to them and the work and they do. One of the most meaningful songs on the album.

Has the word cliche ever been used in another country song?

Actually, that line is one of my favorites from the song, it's so perfect as it explains what the guy is going through, heck maybe that was even me, or you going though the same thing at one time or another.

What about Redneck Crazy. We happened to play the pissed off version here, did you feel like you compromised yourself in cutting the version that said, I'm about to get my redneck on?

No, not at all. I come from the Bible Belt and knew that there were some people that might have been offended, I'm glad your listeners weren't cause that's my favorite version.

See Tyler Farr live in concert Saturday, June 27th at the Sioux Falls Arena with Billy Currington. Ticket Details here!

Note: We didn't have a real good phone line, so instead of airing questionable sounding article I thought we'd put most of what was said, right here! Thanks Tyler Farr for a great interview. I'm a FAN!
