For the 3rd year in a row the Scripps National Spelling Bee ended in a tie.  There were two winners thursday night.

Nihar Janga, 11, of Austin, Texas, and Jairam Hathwar, 13, of Painted Post, N.Y., were declared co-champions. They battled it out for 39 rounds before the competition was declared a tie.

After watching some of the Scripps National Spelling Bee I got to thinking, what words would kids have to spell if it were the 'South Dakota Spelling Bee'.

Here is the list I came up with for the 11 'South Dakota' Spelling Bee Words

1-Kitty-Corner: It's across or over der.

2-Schnookered: Fooled, got taken.

3-Gobbledygook: A bunch of crap you don't understand or like that stuff floating around in the bottom or your refrigerator crisper drawer.

4-Pasties: The meat pies not the things Strippers wear.

5-Dontchaknow: As in ... 'Don't-you-Know'.

6-Flummox: Exasperated or overwhelmed.

7-Discombobulate: How you feel when you are Flummoxed.

8-Befuddled: Flummoxed, Discombobulate, or just fuddled.

9-Tuckered: Tired, Overwhelmed, needing an nap.

10-UffDa: Word used when someone do something stupid.  Usually followed by: 'What the heck?'

11-Hotdish: Made with green beans, mushroom soup, topped with tater tots and cheese. It's not a casserole.

What words are we missing here?  What word would you add to the list?
